About the Business
Alan and Helen Long started the business in 2001 with no staff and just 2 computers and an office. The business now operates from 5 offices and employs qualified and unqualified staff and is involved in the training of future qualified accountants. We have come a long way in a short time.
Everyone has a history and it is what makes us what we are. The distinctive style of The Long Partnership comes in part from our very different backgrounds and experiences that we have brought together and distilled into the business you see today.
Alan is from London and having completed a degree at St. Andrews University trained with Grant Thornton before returning to Scotland where he has been ever since. In 1986 he joined forces with Neil Price, who had recently left the HIDB, and over the next 15 years they built a very successful single office practice.
