About the Business

Husband and wife, Roy and Dorothy Hawes set up the business in 1973 as a small haulage firm with a Ford D series Tipper, quickly expanding with a JCB and a Caterpillar excavator. Roy was hiring himself out to contractors as an owner-driver.

The skip hire business started when Roy Hawes spotted an opportunity for a reliable and speedy skip hire service in the High Wycombe area. He started the skip business with one-second hand skip lorry and ten 6 yard skips.

In 1980 Hawes Plant, Tool & Skip Hire opened their plant and skip delivery depot which was just outside of High Wycombe.

In 2004 Hawes Skip Hire took over one of the local skips hire companies. Since then the skip hire business has grown year on year due to our excellent customer service, fast delivery and collection, along with our consistent reinvestment in more vehicles.
