About the Business

Fifty years ago a shy and nervous young lad just out of short trousers started work for a local firm of Chartered Accountants. Twenty years later he started R A Smith & Co in Leigh-on-Sea with two part-time staff. Some clients from 1983 are still enjoying the services of this practice, now known as CKS Accountancy Limited.

Andrew started work in 1975 and joined CKS in 1993 becoming a director a year later. He understands the pressures and demands of running a small business and so can share this knowledge with clients. He enjoys being in business and helping clients to enjoy being in business too. When not working, he likes to raise his eyes to the sky, mostly to look at planes but also to contemplate the issues of the moment. Underneath that quiet exterior there are still waters running deep! He'll see clients whenever they want unless there is a Southend United game to get to!
