Shorts Chartered Accountants

Samuel Edward Short gained experience and training in Accountancy working under the guidance of Alderman Higginbottom in Chesterfield. In August 1890, he established his own business trading as Samuel Edward Short & Co, which at that stage comprised accountants, auditors, estate agents and insurance brokers and traded from premises in Glumangate, Chesterfield.

The growing firm moved from 17 Glumangate, to larger premises at 6 Fairfield Road, Chesterfield and within the next decade had further expanded into additional premises across the road at 5a Fairfield Road.
