About the Business

After completing my university degree in business studies, I initially worked in the accounts office of a major international steel makers. With a multi-million pounds turnover and several thousand employees this was an ideal start to my accountancy career. I then made the decision to move into private practice and worked for several years for a firm of Chartered Accountants, where I continued to study and gained my accounting qualifications. My next career progression was to another accountancy practice with a view to taking over the practice when the owner made the decision to retire. I took over in 1998 and Andrew Brealey Accountants was formed. Ten years later I offered Steve the opportunity to become a partner in the business, which he took with no hesitation and the firm became Brealey + Newbury Accountants. On a personal note I am married with 2 children and enjoy DIY in what little spare time I have at my home near Chesterfield!
